Other Questions:

  • New and unworn T's and Sweatshirts with a high (at least 60%) cotton content
  • Pieces of fabric with a high cotton content
  • Articles made of cotton - Please remember that we require a large flat surface for printing, free of buttons, zippers or seams.

Please note:

  • We cannot replace or refund for any unsatisfactory prints on SUPPLIED garments.
  • We cannot accept Lululemon items for printing.
  • We cannot accept items that already have preexisting printing or embroidery on them.
  • We recommend investing in a test package (see additional services below) to ensure the colour and print quality with your graphic on your fabric.
  • Also note that we charge an extra $5 for printing on items you bring in.

Volume discounts are based on using the same graphics on all shirts.

All prices are based on artwork that is "ready-to-print".

No artwork? You can use our MAKE Designer tool online or in-store to create your own artwork, or you can have someone at MAKE help you set up your artwork for a fee. Design fees start at $15 and go up $5 for 5 minute increments after 10 minutes.

Test Package - $25 - $35

Testing your graphic for a multi-run job? We can offer you 15 minutes with one of our skilled production people where they will conduct 3 test prints, with colour correction in between, to get your graphic where you want it to be for your large run. The test prints of your same graphic can be on ours or your test fabric - if the test is on ours it will be on t-shirt jersey, please bring your own if you you would like something different. Thank for understanding, this test-printing may not always be able to be done immediately, especially if you're dropping in - please contact us to arrange the session ahead of time. Thanks!
*Please note, due to the nature of direct-to-garment printing, we cannot guarantee exact ink colour matching. If you require a specific brand colour for example -please contact our corporate division, Promosapien, here

Printing on Your Fabric or Garments - $21+

We will do this, but we will not replace or refund for any unsatisfactory prints. We recommend investing in a test package if you are particular about colour and print quality with your graphic.

This price is for a t-shirt with no troublesome seams or your piece of plain fabric. Discounts for multiple prints are available. For difficult-to-print items (most things beyond the aforementioned are difficult), we will quote.

Please note that we cannot print on items that have

  • Seams on front or back
  • Existing prints or embroidery
  • Spandex or built-in bras
  • Products made with less than 50% cotton

MAKE offers two great ways to print onto t-shirts, digital printing and silk screening. For volume orders that have graphics with few colours, silk screening may be a great option. Check out our Imprinting Guide to find out which method suits your project, or visit our silk screening page to learn more.

MAKE does not silk screen on customer supplied items.

Mighty Prints & The MAKE Designer

Now you can print "All-Over" a shirt - from top to bottom and back to front with no limits! Mighty Prints uses cutting edge technology and MAKE is the first retail store to offer it. Use the MAKE Designer, our very own touch screen app, to upload your own photos or use our collection to create your very own all-over graphic. Check out our Mighty Prints page to discover more.

*NOTE: MAKE will not print copyright protected images or artwork without the permission of the creator. We do require you to affirm that you have the right to use any of the images you supply to us to reproduce.

Laser engraving is particularly suited for wood items. In some cases, glass, acrylic and some coated metal items look great engraved. • Objects that are smaller than 24"x12"x6", shorter than 9" with nothing sticking up more than 1/2", relatively flat and not made of uncoated metal

Unfortunately, we cannot predict how engraving may turn out on any items that we do not sell here at MAKE so therefore we cannot guarantee any outcomes at all when engraving onto customer’s items. Because of this, we do not replace or reimburse for any items brought in where the engraving does not satisfy in any way. We also do not reimburse for the actual engraving service even if the outcome is not satisfactory.

We highly recommend buying the items we sell in the store for engraving as these have all been tested.

All engraving must sit 0.25 inches from any edge or other element. The surface must be relatively flat with nothing sticking up over 0.25 inches from the surface.

Yes, you can bring your artwork with you on a USB drive to the shop, or you can e-mail it to us ahead of time. Please note that we need vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .cdr) in black and white for engraving. We can vectorize high quality, high contrast images (.jpeg, .png) in store but this may result in a loss of detail. We usually do not recommend engraving photographs, especially of people or pets.

Please note: we do not engrave copyright protected images or artwork without the permission of the creator. We do require you to affirm that you have the right to use any of the images you supply to us to reproduce.

We can often do same-day turnaround for appropriately sized projects for customers shopping in-store. If you are hoping for a same-day turnaround, please call ahead to check our current turnaround timing. Thanks!
For e-mail orders, we generally require 2-3 days. And the great news is, we are open 7 days a week!

Embroidery

Custom embroidery has been our specialty for over 25 years!  Our embroidery artists can help you with your project whether you're looking for an elegant design to be applied to a single item or for your logo to be used in corporate branding on various items.

One or two items:

  • Bought at Make:   same day to next day depending on time of order.
  • Brought in:   24-72 hours depending on item and embroidery.

Multiple Items (eligible for volume pricing at 6+ with same embroidery):

This is quoted based on the number of items, the embroidery needed and our current workload.  Can be from 72 hours to 10 days depending on the project.

  • On items bought at Make - Embroidery starts at $13 including the first 12 letters OR a basic stock or custom design up to 3,000 stitches.
  • On items brought in by you - Embroidery starts at $17 including the first 12 letters or a basic stock or custom design up to 3,000 stitches.
  • More than 12 letters?  Additional letters are charged for based on their size.
  • The stock or custom design is more than 3,000 stitches?  They are priced based on the number of stitches so pricing is quoted on a per design basis.
  • Bulky, extremely thick, tough or unwieldy items:  There are some items that are extremely hard to hoop and then keep on the machine - we charge a handling fee of $10-$25 on these items.
  • Custom Design set up: To use your own logo or design it must be digitized to be used by the embroidery machine. There is a one-time set-up fee for digitizing your logo and the cost varies based on the complexity and size of the design but starts at $40. We need to evaluate your design before we can quote you on digitizing or embroidery.  To learn more about digitizing and get a quote on your project click here.

Yes, we can convert your logos, designs and artwork into a special format so they can be embroidered by our machines.  It needs to be DIGITIZED for embroidery using an embroidery specific program operated by a trained digitizer.

To learn more about digitizing and get a quote on your project click here.

Yes.  See our information on patches here.

We do custom order sales on singular items as well as large volume orders! The world is your oyster.

We embroider items purchased elsewhere all the time if they are suitable for embroidery.

Not all items, even if they are constructed of fabric, can be embroidered.  (If they are too small to hoop, have lots of zippers and pockets, or are thick padded fabrics, have layers of fabrics, are fragile or constructed in any way that prevents us from being able to get an hoop on them and attached them to the machine.)

Also, there are some things that we do not recommend be embroidered even if it is possible (examples of this are irreplaceable items, very thin or delicate fabrics, neck ties, very expensive items, anything leather, anything the hoop may leave a mark on)  Please bring your item into Make to see if it works with embroidery.

We will not embroider unwashed items, no exceptions.

Yes! We have over 20 fonts and 100 colours to choose from. Scroll back to the top to see our embroidery fonts. NOTE - Text needs to be at least 0.2" high to work.

As for images, we have hundreds in many different categories.  We do not have pictures of them all uploaded to our site but do have some examples shown here.

Maybe - but likely not as you need to be the owner or creator of the image or have specific permission to use it.  We do not reproduce copyright protected images or artwork without the permission of the creator or owner.

Landscape or portrait photography does not translate well to embroidery. If you're looking to put this kind of photography onto clothing consider our Classic Printing or our Edge-to-Edge Printing.
