The design was donated by artist KC Hall ( Haíɫzaqv Nation) who had this to say about it: “The design tells a story of hope, healing, and heritage. It captures a sacred moment where the past and the future meet: an elder, the keeper of ancestral knowledge, and a child, the embodiment of future potential.

The child isn’t just receiving a blessing… they are an active participant, offering a feather, which represents their own connection to culture and truth.

The relationship is key to strengthening community and ensuring that the promise of creating a future — where tradition is honoured, identity is celebrated, and the bond between generations provides the strength to thrive — is fulfilled.”
