About

Welcome to Make, a place to create your own custom work and be inspired by really cool stuff to buy.

At make, we celebrate creativity and we love great design. Be inspired by our one-of-a-kind, hand-made, quirky, fun shopping. We carry unique items for home, baby, children and adults - we've searched far and wide for a collection unlike any other in Vancouver. We take pride in our collection that focuses on all things “made,” items that are artisan and traditionally hand-crafted, upcycled and recycled, unique and one-of-a-kind.  From gorgeous quality to hilarious and strange, our collection is intriguing and fabulous!

Make is also a place to get creative!  We have the technology, right here in our store, to customize just about anything. Personalize items with either our direct to garment digital t-shirt and fabric printer, laser engraving, and, as has been our tradition for over 25 years, beautiful embroidery services. No matter which technology you choose, we are ready with experienced technicians, designers, quality apparel and interesting items ready for you to adorn with your own special message. We can also use our customization technologies to personalize your own items.

Our store is fun and action packed. We host many crafts and interactive activities.  Kids love t-shirt making where they can draw or create a collage and watch it be printed on their very own t-shirt.  Saddle up to our “Table of Creativity” and make a button with your own message. Or, ask us about kids birthday parties and hosting events at Make. Get the gang together for an adventure in creativity!

The History of Make

Make: A Fresh Face with a Long and Successful History.

Granville Island’s longest running retailer, store-owner and entrepreneur Stacy Hall, co-founded Vancouver’s original custom embroidery location, Justin Stitches, over 25 years ago. As a leader in Vancouver’s retail, customization technology and promotional products industries and an expert in the changing world of retail, Stacy observed and understood the consumer’s growing desire towards what’s sustainable, local, original, and customizable. In 2011, amidst slow economic times, Stacy Hall bucked the trend and Justin Stitches underwent a stunning transformation, evolving into a fun and funky hub for artisans, design lovers and customization now known as Make at Granville Island.

During her 27 year career as business owner and entrepreneur, Stacy Hall also founded Promosapien, Make’s sister company and Vancouver’s creative leader in the promotional products industry.
